エアフィルター洗浄

さて K&Nのエアフィルターを洗浄するためにクリーナーとフィルターオイルを
買ってきました。今年の自分への御褒美ですね。
とりあえず読んだかなきゃいけないのは この取り扱い説明なんですけど
字が小さくて読むのに苦労します。
使っていると擦れて読めなくなるので 使い方の部分だけ転記します。
まずは洗い方と乾かし方・・・。
AIR FILTER CLEANER
AIR FILTER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
1. PRE CLEANING: Tap The element to dislodge any loose dirt, then
gently brush with a soft bristle brush.
2. SPRAY ON CLEANER: Spray K&N Air Filter Cleaner liberally onto
the filter media and soak for 10 minutes.
3. RINSE OFF: Rinse off the cotton filter media with low-pressure tap
water, rinsing from the clean side to the dirty side.
4. DRYING HINTS: After rinsing, shake off all excess water, and dry
naturally. The use of other cleaning or drying methods will damege
the filter and void the K&N air filter warranty.
5. OILING: Follow oiling instruction on oil container for best results.
こっちは まあ問題ないですね。大雑把に訳すと・・・
1. 軽くたたいてゴミや埃を落としたら やわらかい毛のブラシでやさしくゴミを落としてください。
2. クリーナをフィルター全体がヒタヒタに浸かるくらい吹き付けた後 10分置いてください。
3. フィルターのエンジン側から大気側に向かって静かに水を流します。
4. 十分 水を流して洗った後 水を切って 自然乾燥させてください。
他の洗い方や乾かし方をしたら責任持たないよ。
5. オイルの塗り方はフィルターオイルの説明書を読んでね。
という事なので まずクリーナをたっぷり吹き付けて10分放置。水で流すと
マジックリン1晩付けでも微妙に落としきれなかったオイルがあったようです。
よく 水で濯いだ後 軽く水を切ってペーパータオルに包んでしばらく放置
します。本当に乾くのが遅いので年内くらいは乾燥させる必要があるかも
しれません。
洗った後はフィルターオイルの塗り方・・・。

AIR FILTER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
1. CLEANING: Fellow service instructions exactly as they appear on
the cleaning container.
2. OILING: Before oiling, refer to the bar code label on the original
air filter package or the K&N wabsite for recommended
oil
amount for your filter. After filter is completely dry,
use the bottle
view strip to carefully dispense the recommended oil amount
onto the filter media by squeezing oil along each pleat,
once only.
3. STOP: Let the oil wick (absorb) into the filter media for 20
minutes before proceeding.
4. INSPECTION: Carefully apply oil on any visible white spots and
let sit 20minutes. Wipe the gasket or sealing surface with
a clean
cloth or paper towel to remove excess oil, prior to
installation.
DO NOT OVER OIL AIR FILTER. Over oiling may interfere with
the
performance of the engine and/or certain components. If
you over
oil the filter (e.g., oil is draining or dripping from it
after sitting
for at least 20minutes), then wash/clean the filter and
re-oil per
above instructions.
これは読んでおかないと困りますね。同じく大雑把に訳すと・・・
1. 洗い方はクリーナの説明書を読んでね。
2. オイルを塗る前にフィルターが入っていた箱のバーコードラベルか
K&Nのウェブサイトで指定されたオイル量を調べて下さい。
完全にフィルターが乾いたら ボトルの横の目盛りを見ながら注意深く
必要なオイル量をひだに沿って一回で塗ります。
3. 白く残った部分が無いことを確認して20分置いておきます。
フィルター以外の部分に付いたオイルはきれいな布かペーパータオル
で拭いてください。 オイルを塗りすぎちゃだめ。20分置いてる間に
オイルが垂れたり流れたりしてたら塗りすぎ。塗りすぎたらもう一度
クリーニングして塗りなおしてね。
エアゾルタイプのオイルの取り扱い説明書に何と書いてあるか興味は
ありますが 適量塗れと言う事ですね。
R1 '02-'03用のフィルターはYA-1002です。

塗るフィルターオイル量は 18mlですね。そこで横の目盛りを見ると・・・。
まあ この目盛りで0.63 ozと言われてもねー。
フィルターが乾くまでの間に塗り方は考えるとします。
フォークオイル入れる時に使った注射器でも使った方が良いかなー。

寒波が来る前に一晩 外で乾かした後 室内干しに切り替えて ある程度
乾いてきました。外に出せれば良いのですが凍ってしまうので もう少しの
辛抱です。
